Guarantees of Origin provide verification that electricity, biomethane, heating, cooling,
renewable hydrogen, or biogas has been sourced entirely from renewable energy (RES)
The process of obtaining a certificate can be divided into three stages:
1. Energy Generation & Volume Verification
2. Application to the President of the ERO (Energy Regulatory Office)
3. Receipt of a positive decision from the ERO and the issuance of the certificate
by the Polish Power Exchange (TGE)
Once the document is received, the product becomes a tradable instrument. This means it can be sold, transferred to another entity, or cancelled (retired) for the end client to document their low-emission status.
